Jim Corbett Safari Permit Information
Every safari vehicle needs a permit from the forest department. Understanding how that works removes most of the stress from planning.

Who issues permits
Permits are issued by the Corbett Tiger Reserve / Uttarakhand Forest Department. Jim Corbett Tourism is a private company and does not issue permits. We help you find what is available and assist with the booking process (confirm with us).
What you will need
- Names of every visitor exactly as on their ID
- A valid government photo ID for each visitor (Aadhaar, passport or similar) (confirm with us)
- Your chosen zone, date and shift
- Payment of the permit fee, which is set by the department (confirm with us)
Advance versus on-the-spot
Advance booking is strongly advised, especially for weekends, winter holidays and Dhikala. Limited on-the-spot permits may exist but cannot be relied on.
Changes and refunds
Permit changes and refunds follow the forest department's own rules, which can be strict. Read our cancellation policy and ask us before you pay for anything.
